Terms of Use

The rules for using Books in Bytes. Last updated 23 October 2026.

These terms apply to booksinbytes.in and the Books in Bytes app (the “service”), run by Abhay Kumar Jaiswal in India. By using the service or creating an account, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.

The service

Books in Bytes offers short summaries of books, each split into bytes that take about 30 to 40 seconds to read. Reading a book needs a free account. We may add, change or remove books and features at any time.

Acceptable use

Please don’t:

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

Content and copyright

The summaries, bytes, design and logo of Books in Bytes are original work and belong to Books in Bytes. You may read them for your own personal, non-commercial learning, and share links to them.

The books summarised remain the intellectual property of their authors and publishers, and no rights in them are claimed. Each summary is an original interpretation written for education, private study, criticism and review, and is not a substitute for the original book. If you’re a rights holder with a concern about a summary, email mail@abhayjaiswal.com and we’ll look into it promptly.

Not professional advice

The bytes are for general learning only. They aren’t financial, investment, legal, medical, psychological or other professional advice. Think for yourself, and consult a qualified professional before acting on anything you read.

Book requests

Requesting a book doesn’t guarantee it will be added. By sending a request, you let us use it to decide which books to summarise next.

Offline downloads

Downloaded books are stored in your browser on that device for your personal reading. They may be refreshed or stop being available if a book changes or is removed.

Availability and liability

The service is free and provided “as is”. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we can’t promise it will be error-free or always online. To the extent the law allows, Books in Bytes isn’t liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service.

Privacy

How we handle your data is explained in the Privacy Policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We’ll change the date at the top, and continuing to use the service means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of India.
